I'm still alive

Hello,

I'm getting my butt handed to me during my Medicine clerkship right now. At orientation, the course director said that the goal for us is to be reading from 12-15 hours per week. I can honestly say that target is nigh impossible. I get up at 5am to get into the hospital and start pre-rounding on my patients. I get home around 7pm on a good day - midnight if my team is on Long Call. I barely have time to read let alone give my dress shirts a good scrubbing to get out the Ring around the Collar.

So, sorry about the lack of updates. Squinty said they weren't that creative anymore, anyway :(

So...I think Hank has a poem he's going to put up sometime during Thanksgiving. Something about my first attempt at drawing blood from a patient.

Hey man, glad to see you. As Squinty's husband, I think I have to come to her defense and say I don't think that's what she meant. Although, my wife has a real mean streak so it could have been what she meant, but I don't think that's what she meant. She only hates everyone else, not friends.

Now, get back to work! Russia trusts no tears!

Oh, I merely tease. I know exactly what Squinty meant: a benignly designed throw-away comment meant to stomp on what was left of my self-esteem :)

Just kidding, Squinty - love ya!

I don't think I'd ever heard the expression "getting one's ass handed to them" until just recently. If you can't handle reading, no worries, this is mostly pictures anyway:

Well yeah, the word verification thing wants me to type a word before I post a message.

I thought vquiubya sounded like some sort of salutation, though I'm not sure how to pronounce it.

Are you telling me the word verification thing isn't actually showing real words, just random characters? That's just gxuxa!

ha yuo guys are so funny - or maybe I've been socially isolated for a wee bit too long. not quite sure yet on that one, but will definately let you know.

so, I finally have a job. I start monday making coffee again - but this is what I wanted to do, so, I'm totally not complaining. I dont want to work in the church anymore - I nearly lost my religion!!! One mass a week people, not four or five. and constantly having to be there for people and their problems and feeling like they need me to be in rescue mode in order for them to approve - really bit some dust.

but hey I went to the superstition mountain range the other day with my two dogs and I'm telling ya it was the most fun I've had in a very long time. I'm more of a hermit and so going away by myself with my dogs is totally a great thing for me.

also, I'm reading a new book by Caroline Myss entitled Sacred Contracts. It's a whoop to get my brain around it's constant use of her dialogue/lingo but once I'm in the groove it's actually intriguing. I bought it yesterday and am two-thirds of the way through it ... well, my dogs are good. the money is running out but you know what ? I believe it will all work out because it's just going to. I'm happy - missed my dad on thanksgiving but it's all good for both of us.

oh and ps, I now have to come to your site to access my site becasue I can't seem to remember the addie anymore.

at kinkos - ringing up a bill, here.

happy belated thanksgiving
and happy holidays to ya'll
