writing from ghost-town USA in Gulfport Mississippi - I am taking 'refuge' three blocks up from the beach, here, on the coast.
It should be interesting to see how things progress - the storm wobbled east then west again during the early morning/late night so we're not sure where this thing will really hit.
Our area has a high population of homeless people, some of which prefer to rest on the property of the church. So, this morning (since I slept at the church last night) I make breakfast for the homeless man who was sleeping in our breezeway (covered walkway between the rectory and the church main). He woke up and I told him 'goodmorning, breakfast' and then 'Sir, do you know that a bad storm is coming?' and he said 'yeh' through sleepy eyes and vocal chords - then I asked 'do you have plans to move to a shelter?' and he said he didn't know where any shelters were - so I came back inside to research that online and by the time I realized I wasn't going to be finding anything online I went outside to walk my dog and he had already moved on. Perhaps he went to the Salvation Army down the street - they are good about taking people in.
I don't believe it's going to be all that bad over here, but you never know - I'm expecting to be stir crazy in about twelve hours - wait, I already am.
Mike, I'm glad you're moving forward - but I don't believe you could be a creep - well, you COULD if you wanted to be one, but I don't think you ARE one by default/nature.
Dennis is apparently moving directly North now - at least we are staying on the west side of the storm.
Mike, don't make me come over there and kick your ass. Because I will if that's what it takes to make you feel better. >=| (I don't care if that makes sense or not!) Seriously, though. What will it take to get your spirits up? Jade Empire? Halo 2 deathmatch? My very own handrolled Philadelphia maki?
Hang in there. In the world of medicine, you will go from stud to dud many times, but you will also go from dud to stud as well. Remember: it's just patients...(just kidding) Geoff C
Also, on a random note, Kristin randomly started singing "Creep" last night. Whee I had coffee again today for the first time in months....hugidabugidabugidablarrrrrrr.
Thanks for the comments. Sorry about the post - it was a by-product of a period of lonely night/weekend/holiday-induced self-pity and angst. Happens once in a while. You'll hear nothing more of it - I can pay (through my health insurance) one psychotherapist to listen to my issues, but I can't afford to pay all of you to do the same. So that's the end of that.

Kat: Glad to see you're alive. Now stay dry. ;)
Umm... why does Mike suck? Or not suck...?
A powerful side to your argument if ever there was one. But in counter-point, I give you "Nuh-uh". So there.

We'll return to "normal" soon.
Read my blog, Mikey -- WTF is normal?!?!!

That's why "normal" was put in quotes.
Was there a holiday last weekend that I missed?
